Ice is frozen water

In the bar this weekend, Peter and Albert were drinking the national drink, Uganda Waragi classic. When the half litre was done, Albert asked Peter if they should order another half. At which point Peter asked the waiter if ice was now available. To which Albert retorted, “but we can use cold water”, while pointing at the very chilled bottled water on the table. Peter shrugged and Albert felt the need to clarify, “you know ice is frozen water!” Peter still did not look convinced and Albert started to doubt his science. So Albert now appealed to others in the bar and asked — “isn’t ice frozen water?” The bar laughed out loud and Peter was cowed into asking everyone to concentrate on the football game on the big screen.

Several lessons here.
1. Ice is technically any frozen liquid. Dry ice for example is made out of nitrogen.
2. Peter was not convinced because Waragi classic on the rocks is sexier than gin and cold water. Yes, the 19 year old Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda won the world half marathon in championship record time, but many Ugandans would have prefered it to be Joshua Cheptegai to win it.
3. In the case of Ham vs DTB, the judge seems to have concluded that ice is indeed frozen water. But as we have seen in 1 above, ice could be something else. Ham, like Albert in the bar, has appealed to the court of public opinion and we are laughing at DTB.
4. While Bobi Wine thought that was a drone hovering over his house at night, he was clearly wrong according to the police spokesperson. As clear as ice is frozen water, what Bobi saw was the star of Bethelehem. Like Albert, the police spokesman has caused the bar to laugh out loud

Have yourselves a good week. #mondaymorningbathroommusings
